SHEvolve – Phase 3: The Power Phase

The Women’s Dental Council, IDA Attingal Branch, successfully conducted the third and final phase of the SHEvolve – Empowering Every Stage of Her Life wellness series on 18th October 2026, coinciding with World Menopause Day, at Vyapara Bhavan, Attingal.
The session focused on Menopause & Beyond, covering menopause management, bone and heart health, nutrition, sexual wellness, and rediscovering identity and purpose. Enriched by the presence of faculty from Phases 1 and 2, the programme marked a meaningful closure to the SHEvolve journey.

Silver Smiles

The IDA Attingal Branch – Women’s Dental Council successfully conducted the 5th State Project – “Silver Smiles: Senior Women Wellness Drive” on 21st August 2026 at Ponnu’s Vridhasadanam and Charitable Trust, Poovanathinmoodu, in association with the CDH Wing.
The programme featured an interactive and informative awareness session led by Dr. Ranjhana Ravindran, which focused on age-related oral health concerns. The session was highly engaging, with active participation of around 15 inmates.A dental screening was also conducted along with demonstration of proper oral hygiene practices. Oral hygiene kits were distributed to encourage and support better oral health practices.
Various interactive and engaging activities were also organised, creating a lively and enjoyable experience for the participants.
Dr. Rakhee Rakesh, Dr. Sherin and Dr. Priyalekshmi attended the programme.

Tooth Fairy Day

IDA Attingal Branch – Women’s Dental Council (WDC), in association with CDH Wing conducted The Tooth Fairy Day programme on 19th August 2026 at Petals Preschool, Moonumukku, Attingal, with the participation of around 120 students.
An engaging and interactive oral health awareness session focusing on the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene and healthy dental habits was conducted by Dr Vandana Chandran, Pedodontist.
The session was followed by a colouring competition. A dental screening was also conducted for the participating children.
The programme was attended by Dr Sherin A, Dr Priyalekshmi L and Dr Arya Arun.

Women’s Health Initiative

WDC Attingal Branch – Women’s Health InitiativeThe Women’s Health Initiative, conducted in association with Dr. Girija’s Laboratory & Diagnostic Centre, Attingal, was successfully completed. Five doctors availed the special health screening benefit with a 25% discount on selected blood investigations.

SHEvolve

The Women's Dental Council, IDA Attingal Branch, successfully conducted the first phase of its three-phase wellness initiative, SHEvolve – "The Foundation Years," on 2nd August 2026 at Vyapara Bhavan, Attingal.The session was led by Dr. Aswathy S (MBBS, MD, DNB, FNB), Senior Consultant in Reproductive Medicine.She delivered an engaging and highly informative session focusing on hormonal health, reproductive and sexual health awareness, and the importance of HPV vaccination.
The programme also featured a special Honouring Lady Member Achiever ceremony. Dr. Meera Murali was felicitated for securing First Rank in the KUHS Master of Public Health Examination.The programme concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation and positive feedback from the members, marking a meaningful beginning to the SHEvolve wellness series while celebrating excellence within the profession.

JAGRATHA 2.0

The IDA Attingal Branch WDC, in association with CDH, successfully conducted JAGRATHA 2.0, an awareness session in observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking, at Shree Vidyadhiraja Higher Secondary School, Attingal.
The session was led by Ms. Athira S. Raj, Rehabilitation Psychologist (RCI), who delivered a highly engaging and interactive talk on drug abuse prevention, mental well-being, and making responsible life choices. Around 60 students actively participated in the programme, making the session lively and impactful.
Dr. Rakhee Rakesh, Dr. Vasudevan Vinay, Dr. Thoufina, Dr. Priyalekshmi, and Dr. Sherin participated in the programme.

World Blood Donor Day Observation

As part of the World Blood Donor Day observation, IDA Attingal WDC organized a blood donation initiative at KTCT Hospital, Chathampara. The programme was successfully conducted with the active participation of Dr. Vinay Vasudevan, Dr. Pranav, and Dr. Akshay as voluntary blood donors.

WDC representatives Dr. Sherin A. and Dr. Priyalekshmi attended the programme and coordinated the activities. The initiative highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation and reflected the commitment of members towards humanitarian service and community welfare.

World Day for Safety & Health at Work

The Indian Dental Association, Attingal Branch – Women’s Dental Council successfully conducted a programme on the occasion of World Day for Safety & Health at Work on 28th April 2026 at Shifa Complex, Chathampra.
The programme featured two insightful sessions:
Cyber Security & Self Defense Awareness in Clinics by Mr. Jojin M.S, which highlighted the importance of digital safety and practical measures to safeguard clinical practice.
Ergonomics in Dentistry by Dr. Yogesh Anand P, which provided valuable guidance on maintaining proper posture and preventing occupational strain in daily dental practice.
Both sessions were highly informative, relevant, and beneficial, offering practical takeaways that can be easily incorporated into routine clinical work.

International Women’s Day Celebration

The Women’s Dental Council of IDA Attingal Branch successfully organized the International Women’s Day Celebration – Pink Ribbon Drive on 8th March 2026 at Hotel Savithri, Attingal.
Around 35 lady members actively participated in the programme, making it a vibrant and meaningful gathering. The highlight of the programme was the Breast Cancer Awareness Session delivered by Dr. Anila Tresa Alukal, Senior Consultant in Gynecological Oncology, Sree Gokulam Medical College, Trivandrum. Her session was highly informative and engaging and was followed by breast cancer screening session which was well received by the members. 
As part of the celebrations, the IDA KSB WDC Sthree Shakthi Award 2026 was presented to Dr Adheena Chandran for her dedicated service to IDA Attingal Branch. The programme concluded with a group photo in shades of pink, symbolizing solidarity for the cause, followed by lunch.

National Girl Child Day

As part of National Girl Child Day, the Indian Dental Association – Attingal Branch, in association with the Women’s Dental Council (WDC), organized an outreach programme titled “Her Smile”, a WDC State Initiative, on 24th January 2026 at Girls Higher Secondary School, Attingal.
The chief speaker, Dr Ranjana Ravindran, Orthodontist, conducted informative awareness sessions on dental trauma management and first aid and the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene in young girls. The sessions were interactive and well received by the students.
Following the sessions, posters on dental trauma management were distributed to the school authorities. A dental screening camp for around 100 students was also conducted as part of the programme.
The target audience included girls aged 13–15 years, who are active members of SPC (State Police Cadet) and JRC (Junior Red Cross) making the initiative particularly impactful in shaping health-conscious future ambassadors.

The programme was attended by Dr Rakhee Rakesh, Dr Ranjana Ravindran, Dr Priyalekshmi, and Dr Sherin.

Get Together

WDC Attingal Branch conducted a get together on Jan 17th. Event included some interesting interactive sessions, fun games and a barbeque party for the women members and their kids. 25 members along with their kids attended the event.

Awareness class on Good Touch and Bad touch was taken for 150 students in 2 sessions. Class was taken by Smt.Sankari Unnithan, faculty from MINDPORT.
